Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Sensory Sun blog. My name is Hillary Welch Kleck and I am the writer here. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BS Electrical Engineering. I love food, music, math, technology and writing. Most importantly, I am married to Jacob Kleck- also an engineer, whom I fell in love with in college, and I am the proud, smiling mother of Madilyn, age 6. Madilyn was diagnosed shortly after birth with bilateral anophthalmia, which is the reason for her blindness and other facial anomalies.
My passion in life is to teach others about blindness, hopefully teaching them a little about themselves along the way. So much of our world revolves around sight that we don't often stop to take in what our other senses are perceiving. I hope you will take the time to join me on this wonderful journey, stopping to smell the roses each day.
